Reaper Keybindings for Ableton Users

Coming soon  ·  Drafted

This guide is in progress. The full version will cover the action-list re-binds that map Reaper's keyboard shortcuts onto the muscle memory Ableton producers carry over when switching DAWs — transport controls, edit commands, marker navigation, and the small handful of MIDI editor shortcuts that account for most of the friction in the first week.

What's planned: a table of Reaper actions with the Ableton shortcut on the left and the Reaper equivalent (with the rebind recipe) on the right, plus a downloadable ReaperKeys map file you can import directly. We are working through the exact mapping with a few producers to make sure the defaults are right before publishing.

If you have specific keybindings you wish existed in this guide, the fastest path is to read the import tempo maps into Reaper article first — that one is live and covers the format-conversion part of the workflow. The keybindings article will stay focused on the keyboard surface and not duplicate the tempo map content.
